Race Against Racism

April, 10th 2026 Montpelier High School Event

The 2026 Race Against Racism was a significant Montpelier High School event that impacted our school community by featuring engaging activities, including workshops, live music, poetry, and more, for all MHS students and faculty. In light of Club Action’s shift towards educating and empowering our community, we emphasized a schoolwide event rather than a community event. This schoolwide hosted event workshops for students and faculty to connect, learn, and grow as allies and activists. These workshops provided valuable insights on racism and social justice while fostering a sense of unity among participants, encouraging them to support one another and advocate for change within the school and the larger community.

This year’s event is dedicated to the memory of Sister Sankofa. Sister Sankofa was an incredibly powerful racial justice organizer. She was an uplifting member of the Race Against Racism committee, and we will miss her warmth and conviction. She connected our community and inspired us to really push forward our mission to educate and engage others.

Profits from the 2024 Race Against Racism were donated to the Everytown Project, the Richard Kemp Center and the Montpelier High School BIPOC Affinity Space.

This year any profits will be given to workshop presenters.
